Working with us
If you think we might be able to interpret your tastes and solve your design problems, give us a call. We’ll be happy to show you many more images in our design portfolio and do an in-depth assessment together to see if we’re a good fit.
Our initial baseline phone consultation lasts about fifteen to thirty minutes. Depending on how your goals relate to our working process, the next step will probably be to meet at your home or project location for an in-depth discussion, about an hour long. In most cases where your scope of work is a full room or larger, there will be no charge for this meeting. It is not a design consult, but a chance to get to know each other further, go over our portfolio, and ask additional mutual questions.
Or, for those who just need a little help, we offer targeted, in depth consultations that can knock your socks off with a lot of information sharing in a little time. Please see our Services page for all the ways we can help you.

Case studies
Every project tells a story. How does it meet a real person’s needs and goals – on a real budget, at a real site, and in a real building?
At beTM design, we don’t have a limiting “style” that we force upon all clients. Our style is more of a philosophy: Clean lines. Strong shapes. Architectural integrity – a space that relates to the building and the site. Greener design – embracing the natural and sustainable, and avoiding the toxic. A balanced approach to form and function, and a deep respect for budget. All within an artful composition as deliberately considered as any painting, song, or poem.
These case studies are not a catalog; they’re examples of how we worked to meet one person or family’s needs, and create a space that feels right in one specific building. Reading the overviews, you will learn each project’s goals and challenges, which explain some of the design choices you see in the photos.
We enjoy the challenge of overcoming technical, budget, and space limitations. And we really love helping folks with unique goals and needs: spaces that reflect one’s culture and heritage, a love of the outdoors, or favorite travels – with panache, and without looking stereotypical or corny; kitchens designed for defined ethnic cooking or Kosher needs; deep-green spaces to nurture those with chemical sensitivity, other health issues, or environmental passion; aging-in place options, and spaces for those with current or projected future physical disabilities. These are all issues we have helped with, and some are reflected in these case studies.
